The Economic Development (OEDC) department provides economic development services, for the Town of Oakville and the business community at large. OEDC provides leadership in the external marketing, promotion, and positioning of Oakville as an ideal business location. OEDC has a database of available development sites, industrial, and office properties in Oakville. OEDC provides economic, demographic, and real estate statistics on Oakville to meet the needs of business and investment inquiries. OEDC acts as the lead advisor to Oakville Council, Chamber of Commerce, and developers such as economic expansion opportunities/constraints. This includes input into policy formulation on such matters as the designation and development of employment lands, tourism development and home-based businesses.
