Chip Manufacturing is the only producer of Kevlar® Wristolets in Western Canada. These industrial wrist protectors are made of 100 per cent Kevlar® – a synthetic fibre that is fire retardant as well as slash and puncture resistant. It’s also 20 times stronger than steel.Incorporated in 1998, Chip Manufacturing is 100% owned by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN). Chip Manufacturing specializes in the production of protective industrial knitwear in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. During the 90’s, the ACFN and Suncor Energy Inc. developed a working relationship and together began plans to establish a manufacturing facility in the community of Fort Chipewyan, Alberta.
