West Nottawasaga Presbyterian Church, better known now as West Church was organized in 1853 as a congregation, although services were held in the community before this time.The land was donated on June 19, 1855 by the late Alexander Campbell to Archibald McMurchy, John McQueen and John McKee, the trustees for a church, manse and burying ground for the said congregation. On June 21, 1872, Archibald McDermid and his wife donated an additional piece of land for a burying ground.
