St Andrews Presbyterian Church

edit this listing
St. Andrew's Kirk has its origins in the arrival of Scottish immigrants to Little Falls, later to be known as Fergus. The first sporadic services were held in Hugh Black's Tavern until the original edifice was begun with the cornerstone laid on November 30, 1834 and the first service within that building on August 23, 1835. It was the original church in Fergus and the first between Guelph and Georgian Bay. The second building was erected in the same place in 1862 from stone located in the Fergus area.
