The Alberta Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization, founded in 1973, to promote the study of genealogy and genealogical research within the province of Alberta. The branch started out as the Fort McMurray Genealogical Study Group in 1984. In 1987 we became a branch of the Alberta Genealogical Society. The branch offers help in Genealogical research by holding study groups for beginners; how to use computers in Genealogy; getting past difficulties.
