In 1867 land for a Wesleyan Methodist Church and cemetery was donated by Thomas Black form his farm on the North half of Lot 5, Concession 3, Innisfil Township, Ontario. A church was officially opened on 15 October 1868. This frame church was replaced by a brick church in 1895. The church was always connected to nearby churches, first Bradford, then Cookstown and finally Thornton circuits. after the church closed it was taken down in the 1950's. the cemetery was first cared for by a cemetery board of the church. Later the Township of Innisfil took over the care of the cemetery. today it is cared for by the Town of Innisfil. the last burial took place in 1956, and the cemetery is closed for burials.
