Twenty-eight years ago, four students at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. began a project to setup a credit union run for students and by students. That credit union now, has an unpaid students staff that manages $15 million in assets. Because of the work of those four in 1983, students benefit from superior student financial services and staff receive valuable work experience.Today students at University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University are building a financial institution to provide to students services that make sense for them.
