Gordon Russell Ltd.

edit this listing
Founded in the late 1920's by Gordon Nelson Russell, the early years saw the majority of business in the underground coal mines of the BC Kootenay region. The products and activity that continue with Gordon Russell Ltd today germinated in the growth of the B.C. forest & mining industries in the 1950's thru 70's. Gordon Nelson’s two sons Charles and John were instrumental in guiding the company through this exciting time. Introduction of the Radicon range of speed reducers, manufactured by David Brown in England, and Gallagher Pump provided the company strong growth in these resource sectors. With industrial growth comes transportation and rail traffic, thus GRL's introduction of the Trackmobile mobile railcar mover in the 1960’s.
